DMM Chest Spawns
DMM Chest Spawns are recurring world events in which players race to open a randomly located chest, defeat four breach monsters, and compete for an exclusive final reward.
These events are separate from the permanent Deadman supply chest at the Grand Exchange that is opened with Keys of Spoils.
Event Schedule
When enabled, a DMM chest event automatically starts once every three hours. The timer runs off the world's event scheduler rather than fixed UTC times, and an administrator can start or stop an event manually.
When the event begins:
- A global announcement reveals the chest's approximate location.
- The announcement states whether the location is Multi.
- Players have five minutes to find and open the chest.
- Any player can open it—no key is required.
If nobody opens the chest within five minutes, the event expires without spawning monsters or awarding a final reward.
Opening the Chest
The first player to open the active chest begins the combat stage. A breach portal appears and spawns four random breach monsters:
- Four monsters in total.
- They appear roughly six seconds apart.
- Players have up to 30 minutes to defeat all four.
- The monsters are drawn from the active breach-monster roster.
Each monster can award its ordinary breach-monster loot from the currently enabled breach drop table. Those monster drops are separate from the exclusive reward inside the DMM chest.
If all four are not killed within 30 minutes, the remaining monsters despawn, the chest reward expires, and nobody receives the final reward.
Determining the MVP
Damage is tracked for every participating player across all four monsters.
After the final monster dies, each player's total damage for the whole event is added up, and the highest total is declared the MVP. A global message announces that the breach has been sealed and names them. Only the MVP may loot the final chest.
This is based on total damage across all four monsters—not damage to the final monster alone, and not the number of monsters killed.
Claiming the Reward
Once all four monsters are down:
- The MVP has five minutes to loot the chest.
- Other players cannot claim it.
- The chest awards exactly one reward roll.
- Once claimed, the event chest is consumed.
- If the MVP does not claim it in time, the reward expires.
The rotating DMM chest event does not currently award DMM points directly. Do not confuse it with the permanent Key of Spoils chest at the Grand Exchange, which is a different system and awards 500 DMM points when opened with a Key of Spoils.

Timeline summary: the chest is announced with its location and whether the area is Multi. Players get five minutes to open it, then four breach monsters spawn about six seconds apart and must all be killed within 30 minutes. The player with the highest total damage across all four monsters becomes the MVP and has five minutes to claim a single reward from the chest.
Warning: DMM Chest Spawns are dangerous competitive events. Other players may attack you depending on the location's combat rules, and only the event MVP can claim the final chest reward.
